Art Gallery of Ontario

A very small selection from the 90000 works on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

I think, my very favourite artist, perhaps.
The colours, the colours, the colours!
So much character, so much interest.
Definitely one of Canada’s greatest. I feel a personal connection to the artist after taking watercolor classes in her childhood home.
A part of the Group of Seven works of art.

Hi, how are you? Fine, how are you? Said a chamomile ginger tea to a vanilla earl grey latte. What a perfect ending to a wonderful day!

Art Class, at the Childhood Home of Emily Carr

The childhood home of Emily Carr, in Victoria BC, was built in 1963.

My son and I spent three wonderful Wednesday mornings studying the art of watercolor painting with an amazing group of like-minded people.

Cherry blossoms….

“To look into the heart of the cherry tree when it was blossoming was a marvel almost greater than one could bear. Millions and millions of tiny white bells trembling, swaying, too full of white holiness to ring.” Emily Carr

Tulips and tiny buds.

There are so many skills and techniques to discover!

Delicate macaroons..

Enjoying beautifully decorated macaroons, a delicious treat prepared for us by our instructor, Helga Strauss’s mom, and fellow artist.

After today’s class to Beacon Hill Park, where we painted for another two hours.

Emily Carr

Thank you, Emily, for sharing your home with us and our new  friends.
